Category: Miku Hatsune

Crypton Future Media, after handling the release of the Yamaha vocal Meiko and Kaito, developed the first Vocaloid, Hatsune Miku. The name "Hatsune Miku" was conceived soon after the Vocaloid 2 announcements, when both an English and Japanese vocal were developed for the character. The intended design was initially delayed and later used for Megurine Luka instead.

Miku was intended to be the first of a series of Vocaloids called the "Character Vocal Series," which included Kagamine Rin/Len and Megurine Luka. Each Vocaloid in the series had a particular concept and vocal direction.

The development of Hatsune Miku, the first Vocaloid created by Crypton Future Media, followed their previous work with the Yamaha vocal products Meiko and Kaito. The name "Hatsune Miku" was conceived shortly after the Vocaloid 2 announcements, coinciding with the development of both English and Japanese vocal versions of the character.

However, the initial design concept for Miku was ultimately delayed and later used for the creation of Megurine Luka instead. Miku was envisioned as the first in a series of Vocaloids known as the "Character Vocal Series," which also included Kagamine Rin/Len and Megurine Luka. Each Vocaloid within this series was designed with a specific concept and vocal direction in mind.

The Vocaloid development process undertaken by Crypton Future Media began with their handling of the Yamaha vocal products Meiko and Kaito. This experience then led to the creation of the first Vocaloid, Hatsune Miku. The name "Hatsune Miku" was conceived during the Vocaloid 2 announcement period, at which time both English and Japanese vocal versions of the character were developed.

Interestingly, the initial design concept intended for Miku was ultimately delayed and later repurposed for the creation of Megurine Luka. Miku was envisioned as the inaugural member of a series of Vocaloids called the "Character Vocal Series," which also featured Kagamine Rin/Len and Megurine Luka. Each Vocaloid in this series was developed with a specific concept and vocal direction in mind.
